How do I book with you?

Start by contacting me to learn about pricing!  After that, all you have to do is say, "Hey! I want to book!" and then I send you a booking proposal, you sign it, and send me a $75 non-refundable retainer check for a portrait session, $1,000 for a wedding, and then we get to start planning!

How long until I get to see my photos?

Portrait sessions usually take between 2-6 weeks; 2 in the off season, 6 in the busy season (July + August).  Weddings take 8-12 weeks.   It takes a lot of time to hand-edit all your images, and I want to make sure that every one is perfect for you!

How long have you been doing this?

I started my business in 2010.  I have shot over 500 portrait sessions and over 120 weddings.  Wow, it's crazy to say that.  I had to go back and double check, but it's true!  I have a ton of experience with photography and still can't believe that this is what I get to do for a living.

Depending on the details of your wedding, you will receive 400-900 hand edited photographs.  When I say that it depends on the details, i mean: Do you have a lot of decor at the reception? Do you have a large wedding party or just one person on each side?  Do you have a 400 person wedding or a 60 person wedding.  Those are the kinds of elements that go into whether you get 400 or 900 images.

For portrait sessions, you will receive between 30-90 images.  I give a big range because every shoot runs so differently.  Depending on the cooperation of your baby nephew, or high school senior boy (notorious for not wanting to spend a ton of time) you might get be on the lower end of that spectrum or the higher end!   But rest assured, I never leave a shoot until I am happy with what I've gotten.   I always make sure that you get the most out of your session.

How many photographs will I receive?

Can I give you a list or Pinterest board of every shot I want?

I am guessing that you hired me because you like my work.  You probably looked at my style of editing, the lack of super posed images, the more natural approach to photography.  So I am hoping that you will trust me to do the same for you that I have done for my past clients.

The best moments from a shoot or wedding come when you're not expecting it - when you're just letting things flow and someone makes a joke and people start laughing, when little baby Sophie reaches over and kisses Grandma on the cheek mid-shoot, or when the wind comes along and blows your hair just perfectly across your face.  It's hard to force that stuff to happen and if you're focusing on recreating photos you saw on the internet, then you're probably missing out on a lot of your own authentic Pinterest-worthy moments.

So with that being said, I would prefer not to get a long list of posed photos you want... but, if there are a couple must-haves, then please send them my way!  I love trying out new things and I really do welcome your ideas.  Also, for family portraits at weddings, I actually ask for a list of the various groupings you'd like.  It helps keep that part of the day moving quickly and smoothly.

Yes!   When you contact me for pricing, there is info in there about prints and digital files.  But after you pay your session fee, you are welcome to purchase prints (starting at $23) or the full digital collection.

If you booked a wedding, you get 400-900 edited, print ready, full-resolution images with your package.

Do you offer prints and digital files?

I figured that might be the case :) Contact me and fill out the pertinent info and I will reply with a bunch of info!  Like, probably all the questions you have and some you didn't realize you had!  Excited to hear from you!

I have a lot more questions about my session or wedding and I don't see them answered here!
